Hello, and Thank You very much for taking the extra time to visit my personal website! I hope exploring here will help you get to know me better as a person, in a more informal way than the application. I used to use this website as a sort of "blog," but I let it go about a year ago. I am just now "reviving" it as a supplement to my application.
Take a look anywhere you want, though I do realize your time is valuable, so I will point out a few distinct pages. First, I recommend you check out the "Ham" Radio page; I've written a short description there about the hobby and my involvement in it, that I otherwise would not have been able to fit on my application.
Also, you may want to see the Mock Trial page, though it isn't really that much at the moment (we are getting the case materials Nov. 7, so we haven't really started with the "good stuff" yet). http://www.massbar.org/mock can also give you some information on last year's case and the tournament (they haven't updated it for 2008 yet either).
My Invention Ideas page has a tiny bit of the inventions I've thought up before too.
It may not be that much, but it is something, and once again I thank you for visiting. This was a recent idea for me too, so I will be updating the page with more personal information very shortly.
I hope you will find me a good match for your college!

Okay, I was looking around for some ASCII-art to put into a few Java programs of mine, when I came across http://asciiconvert.com . You can upload any image or use one already online, and it will convert that image into (html color!) ASCII characters! Pretty neat!
On a side note, whenever I do a System.out.println(); in Java, with any sort of \ with something afterward inside the println, like "\_" or "\ " or "\." , I get a compiler error stating "illegal escape character". I'm dumbfounded, so if anyone has any ideas please contact me (the link at the footer of the page)! Thanks!

Okay, this is probably pretty stupid, but I was just thinking about multiplying ascending and descending numbers like this:
5*1, 4*2, 3*3, 2*4, 1*5
and I found that for any number squared, that is, times itself, the immediate number above it and the immediate number below it always multiply to be the number immediately below the original number's square. Okay, that's a bit of a complicated description, real numbers will help:
3*3 = 9, and 4*2 = 8
4*4 = 16, and 5*3 = 15
5*5 = 25, and 6*4 = 24
...and so on. I dunno, I thought it was cool ;-)
Oh yeah, and while I'm on the subject of numbers, I've always preferred odd numbers to even numbers because every odd number has a definite middle number (that's an integer, not a decimal) When you write the numbers 1-5 out: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 , three is the definite middle, two numbers on each side. But when you write the numbers 1-4 out: 1, 2, 3, 4 , 2.5 is the middle, which isn't as nicely rounded as 3. Yeah, I guess that's not very remarkable either.
But hey, nobody's actually looking at this page anyway, Google hasn't even indexed it! So I'll just post whatever the heck I want here, right? Just think of all the other lame-o blogs out there...

I've found another great free service to use for the site: co.nr domain forwarding! This means that instead of http://thompsona1.googlepages.com, you can use the domain I've set up with them: http://www.andrewt.co.nr! Ain't that cool?!?! Just like one of those .co.uk ones, and free, no ads! It has a nice ring to it, something that you can just throw out there fast: "co dot en - arr"! BAM! Unlike co.uk, something.co.nr is a subdomain of "co.nr", a single web address, .nr being from the Pacific-Island country of Nauru (awesome in and of itself!). The catch is that there has to be at least one use of the domain per month, and they want me to put a button linking back to them, so here goes:
Click that and go get yours if you feel so inclined...Also, the company makes it's money by offering webhosting, but I have Google doing that for me...

Just added a few new things to the site. I've found out that GPC now allows the <embed> tag, so I made a Video page for some of those (not much now). I also was able to equip the site with a remote copy of Wpoison, the offensive spam-fighting CGI program. I also uploaded the site to Google Sitemaps, and you can see an HTML version here.
Do NOT click THIS link (fake spam emails)! Feel free to click on the Wpoison logo, though

Here it is, the second day of the FIFA World Cup 2006, and I am delighted to report that Trinidad & Tobago has recieved a point in its first-ever World Cup! That's right, the smallest nation ever to make it to a world cup, with 2000-1 odds of winning the whole thing, tied in a scoreless match against the experienced Swedish team. Did I mention the Swedes have 40-1 chances of winning the whole thing? The Trinidad goalkeeper, Shaka Hislop, needs the biggest pat on the back in history. The Swedes had plenty of chances to score, and he blocked all of them. I just hope that Trinidad doesn't have to play the US, because then I won't know who to cheer for!

Whew! It's been a long time since I updated this! I mostly wanted to show off a new thing the Google Bros. came up with: Gapminder. It's a really cool app that will track and plot all kinds of world trends for countries in the world. For example, you can graph Income per capita vs. Carbon Dioxide emissions per capita for most countries, and sort it...anything! Highly recommend you check it out!

Yesterday I saw a three-screened presentation from MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). It was very good, and really encompassed all dangerous aspects of driving. Anyway, the reason I'm putting this here is because at the end they "asked for the order" so to speak, and asked that if you were not drinking (Me!), then you should actually get involved in solving the problem. Well, I felt moved, and figured putting a link on my new website would work!

Wow, I've already gone through nearly one week without a Formula 1 Grand Prix and San Marino is still more than two weeks away! I'm one of the tens (literally, there aren't many of us) of enlightened Americans who realize how lame NASCAR really is with their stupid left-turn only system. You owe it to yourself to see a GP! These cars are so much more agile and technologically advanced than NASCARs.
Also, I tried formula1.com's official Live Timing during the Australian GP, and it is really nice! It's completely free, and you just need an email address, and you can see all the lap times and track conditions, with only about 1 second of delay. I like it because when Speed is showing commercials, I can still figure out what's happening during the race!

Hello! Just wanted to say that the laptop pictures I took are uploaded, you can find them in my new Picture Gallery! I've also added a "Contact Me" page on the bottom of every page next to the copyright. I've also started an "Invention Ideas" page, just something I'm messing around with (in other words, I'm not actually trying to invent anything on there, nor have I already invented anything).
Update!
Hey, how y'all doin today, this fine March 27, 2006! As you can see, I updated my Laptop Review page. What I did was write the entire thing out in a Word Processor, and I am just copy/pasting it into the actual webpage. I had to go to bed last night before I could finish though, so what you see there is only about half of what I've written. I plan to put the rest up there this afternoon, so check back! Pictures will also be posted at that time!
END OF UPDATE!
This is kinda just a test to see how well this Google PageCreator stuff works!
Ok, well, my name is Andrew and I live in the USA. This is my second webpage ever, and I'm really starting to like designing them. I would recommend that you check back for any updates that I'll put on here as soon as I have more free time, like on the weekend or something!
Oh, before I go, here's a picture of one of TIA's flight simulator planes:
